Welcome
Welcome to Woodpeckers!Woodpeckers Pre-school is a committee-run setting and a registered charity, established in 1998 which operates from a purpose-converted, single storey building on the outskirts of Cranbrook in Kent. We provide care and education for children from 2 1/2 to 5 years old and offer sessions on Monday morning and Tuesday to Friday all day. The team of eight qualified early-years practitioners provides friendly, nurturing and most of all, child-led learning through play. With ample indoor space and a large secure garden and hard-surface play area, Woodpeckers offers a full range of opportunities for children to explore, learn and most of all, have fun!

Opening times

Mondays 9am - 12 midday

Tuesday to Friday 9am - 12 midday and 12.30pm - 3pm (from 3 years)

Lunch club available from 12.30 - 1 (from 3 years) at addtional cost with priority given to children staying for afternoon sessions

Staff

The friendly and professional team at Woodpeckers have a combined experience of over 80 years! They consist of Louise Macdonald, Supervisor, Dianne Packham, Deputy Supervisor, Sarah Bartholemew, Snjezana (Zana) Stowell, Julia Blake, Mandy Swift, Emma Holmes and Issy Mariott (currently on maternity leave). Committee

Woodpeckers is a committee-run setting with all aspects of finances, building management, staffing etc. managed by a team of volunteer parents and carers. The current committee is:Claire Dunn - ChairpersonJane Wells - SecretaryTanya Ling - TreasurerBecky Reid - Working Groups Co-ordinatorKatie Babicz - Fundraising Co-ordinatorLaura ReevesCommittee meetings take place every 6 weeks in the evenings at Woodpeckers. New members are always needed so please think about how your skills could help your child's experience at Woodpeckers.Parent helpers are also needed to assist on an ad hoc basis covering sickness and staff training. If you would like to go on a rota, please let Louise know what days you may be able to cover. Helping comes with a warning...it's very addictive - most of our staff started out as parent helpers!

Currently we are reviewing our Child Protection Statement and Policy, What happens if an Allegation is made against a member of staff Policy and Lost Child Policy.
