Woodpeckers is a committee run preschool with charitable status.  The committee consists of a Chairperson, a Secretary and a Treasurer (all voluntary) who are elected annually at the AGM. 

The primary focus of the committee is to ensure the smooth running of the preschool including staffing, building and grounds maintenance and fundraising.

The Committee meets regularly, every 6 weeks or so, at Woodpeckers in the evenings.  We always welcome and encourage new members (parents, carers, grandparents) as your involvement in the running of the preschool is essential and hugely valued. We always need new skills, for instance, recently committee members have renegotiated the lease on the premises.  We really do welcome and invite suggestions, contributions (verbal, skills, monetary!)  and interest, so please come along to the next meeting and find out what happens and where you can get involved in your child’s preschool.

Working Groups: All parents/carers are supplied with a working group rota at the beginning of term.  Each group has a leader who will remind you before your week and is there to answer any queries you might have. Working groups members are responsible for supplying fruit for snacks, doing laundry, taking recycling and baking cakes for a Thursday cake sale. Further details are supplied in your working group reminders. In addition, working group leaders are the point of contact in case of school closure due to bad weather etc. so please make a note of your leader’s contact details.
